Upper Age Limit for Candidates: NID Bachelor of Design (B Des.) 

• For Indian Nationals in General Category and General EWS Category: Candidates born on or after July 1, 2003 are eligible to apply.
• For Foreign Nationals Overseas Category : Candidates born on or after July 1, 2003 are eligible to apply.
• For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST): Candidates born on or after July 1, 2000 are eligible to apply.
• For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (PwD): Candidates born on or after July 1, 1998 are eligible to apply.

• For Foreign Nationals in Overseas Category : Candidates born on or after July 1, 1992 are eligible to apply.
• For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST): Candidates born on or after July 1, 1989 are eligible to apply.
• For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (PwD): Candidates born on or after July 1, 1987 are eligible to apply.

Who is eligible to apply under the overseas category? Foreign candidates—applicants holding citizenship of a country other than the Republic of India are eligible to apply, provided they fulfill all the eligibility criteria mentioned above.

In addition to the seats available for the B.Design programmes, an additional 15% supernumerary seats are available for overseas applicants.

Of the seats available for the M.Design programmes, 15% supernumerary seats have been created for overseas applicants.

The actual number of seats available under Overseas category are as follows:

• Applicants holding OCI & PIO card will have to apply only under the Overseas (supernumerary) Category.
• Foreign applicants fall outside the ambit of seats reserved for the GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD categories. Such candidates cannot avail the facility of age-relaxation, scribe etc.
• Candidates under Overseas Category are required to pay the fees as per the overseas fee structure.
• Candidates must possess a valid passport. The candidate must ensure that the passport is current at the time of applying online.
• Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) holding an Indian passport are not eligible to apply under the Overseas category and will have to apply as Indian nationals.
• After all the stages of the admission process have been completed, the final merit list of the Overseas category will be prepared. Successful candidates will be offered admission to NID based on the merit list. Candidates will be offered admission based on the minimum qualifying criteria.
• At this time, candidates will be required to produce the required documents along with their self attested photocopies.
• The candidate will be responsible for obtaining a student visa for the entire duration of the programme at NID, before the commencement of programme.
• If the selected candidates do not pay their programme fees or fail to produce any of the required documents, or if they decline the offer of admissions, their candidature will stand cancelled and their seat will be offered to the next candidate in the order of merit under Overseas category.
• Seats remaining vacant/unfilled in the Overseas category will lapse and will not be transferred to candidates from any other categories.
• Overseas candidates will have to appear for Dat Prelims and Dat Mains as per the schedule .
